Abstract

This study examines STEAM Education research trends over the past five years. This study aims to determine: (1) Who are the most prolific authors; (2) The most prolific affiliates; (3) The most prolific country; (4) Visualisation of STEAM research trends; and (5) Future research topics. This research uses bibliometric research methods. The Scopus database was utilised to collect data, which was then converted into RIS. They are performing data analysis with Rstudio, bibliometrix, and VosViewer software. Based on the analysis, the number of studies on STEAM has increased significantly from 2018 to 2022. This shows that STEAM Education has a big impact on the field of education, especially learning. In addition, it is known that STEAM research has been widely studied in Asia, especially in China. However, bibliometrix analysis shows that South Korea is the country with the most international citations regarding STEAM approach research. Based on the findings, it also shows that connecting STEAM education with local culture has future research opportunities in STEAM education. Therefore, the implications of this research hope for further research regarding the implementation of a culturally integrated STEAM approach to improve student skills.
