Curiosity, or ‘Kepo’ in colloquial terms, has become an integral part of social interaction on social media. This study aims to explore the level of curiosity among Indonesians towardviral trends on soscial media and its psychosocial impacts. Using a descriptive qualitative aproach based on indigenous psychology, data were collected through an open-ended online questionnarie completed by 185 participants aged 14-40 years. The analysis results revealed that 59.73% of respondent had felt curious about others’ lives on social media, with primary motivations including the need for information, social adaptation FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out), and digital identity formation. Participation in trends was generally selective, with 71 respondents stating they “rarely” engaged, naturally choosing trends that aligned with their interests, values, or beliefs while avoiding those that did not. Emosional respones to viral trends variedfrom enjoyment and exitement to feelings of anxiety and social pressure. These findings highlight the importance of digital literacy in managing curiosity in a healthy and adaptive manner. This study recommends the development of subculturally relevant instruments to measure ‘kepo’ behavior and further research on the psychological and social impact of curiosity-driven behavior on social media.
