Abstract

Poverty is one of the main indicators in measuring the success of
development, so that poverty alleviation efforts are the main focus
in the formulation of economic and social policies. Papua
Province is one of the poorest provinces in Indonesia Therefore,
this study aims to analyze the influence of the dependency ratio,
Gini ratio and district/city minimum wage (UMK) on the poverty
rate in Papua Province during the period 2017-2021. This study
uses secondary data with a panel data approach, and applies a
random effect model as the most appropriate estimation method.
The results of the analysis showed that the dependency ratio had a
positive and significant effect on the poverty rate. On the other
hand, the ratio of Gini and MSE does not affect poverty..
