Author Guidelines
AUTHOR GUIDELINES: SATYA WACANA LAW REVIEW (SWLR)
- General Requirements
- Word Count: Manuscripts must be between 5,000 and 7,000 words in length, excluding the bibliography.
- Reference Quality: A minimum of 80% of all cited sources must be derived from journal articles.
- Currency of Sources: Cited journal articles must have been published within the last 7 years to ensure the relevance of the research.
- Manuscript Structure The manuscript should be organized according to the following structure:
- Article Title: Must be concise and limited to a maximum of 14 words.
- Author Identification: Listed below the title, including the Author's Name, Affiliation, and Email address.
- Abstract:
- Must be provided in both English and Indonesian.
- Should present the research background, context, and identify the specific problem or need that prompted the study.
- Must explain the main objectives, hypotheses, and the research questions to be answered.
- Research findings should be presented succinctly, highlighting significant information.
- The abstract must conclude with a summary of implications, contributions to the relevant field, and recommendations for future research or practical applications.
- Keywords: Include five phrases that describe the article, separated by commas (,) and not semicolons (;).
- Introduction:
- Provides general context and identifies the specific legal issue or problem.
- Explains the main objectives, scope of discussion, and focuses the analysis using research questions.
- Includes a brief literature review to demonstrate the manuscript's contribution to existing knowledge.
- Must end with a "roadmap paragraph" that outlines the structure of the subsequent sections.
- Research Method:
- For doctrinal research, a separate methodology section is generally not required and should not be included in the introduction.
- A methodology section is mandatory if the article utilizes non-doctrinal, socio-legal, or other interdisciplinary approaches.
- Results and Discussion:
- This section contains the results of the analysis and a thorough discussion regarding the research objectives.
- It must provide direct answers to the legal issues and research questions raised in the introduction.
- Conclusion:
- Summarizes the core findings and emphasizes the main message of the article.
- Explains how the results answer the research questions and identifies contributions to science or practice.
- May include practical or theoretical implications, suggestions for further research, and a discussion of limitations.
- Citations and Bibliography
- Citation Style: All references must be formatted as footnotes.
- Referencing Standard: Authors must strictly adhere to the OSCOLA (Oxford University Standard for Citation of Legal Authorities) guidelines.
Bibliography: The list of references at the end of the manuscript must be categorized by source type, specifically: Books, Journals, and Scientific Articles (including theses)
