Abstract

Quasi-Linear Convective System (QLCS) merupakan sistem konvektif linier berskala meso yang berpotensi menghasilkan hujan lebat dan angin kencang, sehingga diperlukan kajian karakteristik sistem tersebut di wilayah tropis. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi karakteristik QLCS di Sumatra Selatan dalam radius cakupan 150 km dari Radar Cuaca Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Palembang selama tahun 2025. Analisis dilakukan menggunakan data Radar Cuaca Doppler C-Band yang diolah dengan Rainbow Display, Analysis and Research Tool (RainDART) untuk menghasilkan produk Column Maximum (CMAX), Cell Centroid Tracking (CTR), Horizontal Wind (HWIND), dan Vertical Shear (VSHEAR). Karakteristik yang dianalisis meliputi jumlah kejadian, sebaran temporal dan spasial, tipe pembentukan, karakteristik propagasi, serta profil angin lapisan bawah. Hasil penelitian mengidentifikasi 32 kejadian QLCS dengan panjang sistem 52,28–186,01 km, reflektivitas maksimum 55,0–63,5 dBZ, dan durasi hidup 90–190 menit. Sebagian besar kejadian QLCS dalam domain penelitian terjadi pada siang hari (local time) di wilayah coastal plain, dengan tipe pembentukan yang didominasi broken line. Sistem umumnya bergerak ke arah tenggara dengan kategori fast moving (>7 ms⁻¹), memiliki durasi hidup >120 menit, serta berkembang pada lingkungan vertical wind shear kategori strong (>0,005 s⁻¹) dan kecepatan angin horizontal maksimum >20 knot. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa QLCS di Sumatra Selatan memiliki karakteristik yang sesuai dengan sistem konvektif terorganisasi di wilayah tropis yang dapat mendukung pemantauan dan analisis cuaca ekstrem berbasis radar cuaca.
