About the Journal

Microorganisms are everywhere; some are beneficial, and others have some disadvantages. The colonization of many microorganisms, collectively called “microbiomes,” plays essential roles in the niches they inhabit. The potential of the microbiome, how they interact with each other, and their mechanism makes its study promising.

Journals in microbiology specific to tropical regions are still limited to date. Indonesia, as a tropical region, has a variety of living microorganisms that are abundant and interesting to explore, research, and commercialize. Tropical Microbiome is a scientific communication medium for microbiology researchers and observers, especially those interested in ecology and the role of microorganisms (molds, yeasts, bacteria, viruses, bacteriophages) in various aspects of life.

Tropical Microbiome is managed by Agriculture and Business, Satya Wacana Christian University, and a consortium of microbiology researchers, including Indonesian bacteriophage researchers, involving several experts in related faculties. Tropical Microbiome is published twice a year, in June and December.
