Pelatihan Penulisan Sejarah untuk Karang Taruna Desa Ngrawan, Kabupaten Semarang

Abstract

“Sejarah kampong” is a response to the national history of Indonesia that does not accommodate locality and ordinary people in the historiography. However, the narrative generally is written by outsiders (historians, government institutions, academics, or at the initiation of communities of historical, literacy, and writing facilitators from outside the village). This reality prompted a collaborative community of youth villagers to write their own village history. However, they have a hard time with inferiority. This paper explains how ordinary people write their own historiography based on the collaborative model. Focusing on the history of Rejeban, this activity produces historical narratives, documentary films, also social changes and transformations in the village. Most importantly, this activity can remove stereotypes and negative labels about villagers and place them as subjects in history, both as its owners and authors. Thus, this activity should be a model for other villages or communities to write their history.
