Pengembangan Desa Wisata Tingkir Lor Melalui Penulisan Konten Website

Abstract

The tourism roles in developing the economy of people in various places are immense, as is the case in Tingkir Lor tourism village. The geographical location and diverse potential of Tingkir Lor village made it the first tourist village in Salatiga. The development of Tingkir Lor tourist village is inseparable from the role of the tourist awareness group (Pokdarwis) which coordinates activities and programs related to the provision of tourist services in Tingkir Lor. An effort by Pokdarwis to convey information as well as promotion is in its website, which was pioneered in 2015 and still requires development. To enrich the content of the Tingkir Lor tourism village website, the Community Service (PkM) team from English Literature Study Program consisting of two students and three lecturers conducted a program to answer the needs of the community, especially the residents of Tingkir Lor. This PkM activity is integrated with the Travel Writing class which produces English articles about seven MSMEs in the Tingkir Lor tourist village which are then edited and translated into Indonesian by the PkM Team. The results of the writing were uploaded on the Tingkir Lor tourist village website. Through assistance in developing the content of the Tingkir Lor tourist village website, it is hoped that it can increase the awareness of the Tingkir Lor community to introduce the diverse potential of the village and local wisdom that is still not exposed, which in turn is beneficial to improve the welfare of the community.
